Website Relaunch!

Hello Friends! 

We've launched a new version of our website today, and we hope that everyone is going to love it! This is going to be a continual process, so be on the lookout for changes and updates as the next few weeks go on! We will also appreciate feedback on the site, and we hope that you'll let us know what you think. 

The biggest change that you're going to see is that we've updated the site to be more personal. Back in the day, it used to be that people either found us through social media or our physical store first. Then, they may visit the website to see what we had available. This meant that people were introduced more personally to both Andrew and me before ever visiting our online store. Now, since our online presence is the driving force of what we do, more and more people are finding us through search engines and other means. In our previous website, when you first visited, you were shown a bunch of products. But, you had no idea who you were supporting. You didn't know if we were a small business or a larger one. You may not have even been sure what country we, as owners, were based in or where your items were coming from. 

It started to feel too impersonal. It started to feel like we were trying to make the hard-sale with just a page of products showing…and we're just not those people. So, we've updated our site. Everything you've found before can still be found on the site. Menus have changed a bit, but we hope it's easier to use, and if you can't find something, the search is still available. What is definitely easier to find now is information about who we are. We believe that small business is about supporting people, and now you'll be sure who you are supporting with each purchase you choose to make. No surprises. 

Currently, we have information about Andrew and me on the site. We will continue to add more and more information about Star Cottage Studio and our physical location as time goes on—hopefully sooner rather than later. But, we wanted to launch the site to get the feedback from those who already know and support us. We hope this makes sense, and we hope that you love the changes. It should allow us to more easily highlight new items without them getting lost, and also allow us to be more information-focused instead of just product-focused. We want our website to be place where you can find information as well as purchase the unique items we curate.
