Inspired by Reading Book Club is Back for 2026!

Hello friends and #AGBeadFam!

We wanted to let you know that after a hiatus, our Inspired by Reading Book Club is back for 2026! 

With some input from our #AGBeadFam, we've decided to do a more quarterly meeting instead of monthly to get back into the swing of things. Many people have told us that monthly, especially during the summer months, is just not possible for them, so we're restarting slowly and we'll see where things go from there and how people enjoy this pace. 

If you haven't been following us for a while, we started Inspired by Reading Book Club in 2012. Being lovers of both books and creating things, we thought the two would mesh really well together. Our book club is devoted to those interested in using literature as a source of inspiration. After our book club members have read the book, we encouraged everyone to make something that was inspired by what they read and share it! What you create is up to you. Many of our #AGBeadFam create jewelry, but some of the items we've had in the past are: clothing, a home-brewed beer, shadowboxes, paintings, sculptures, and more.

Inspired by our trip to Italy and, especially, Venice, our first book of the year will be The Glassmaker by Tracy Chevalier. 

We'll have a meeting on Zoom (date and link below) to hang out and discuss the book as well as show the projects we made—or start/continue working on the projects we wish to make! It's all very low-key, and it's really about the joy of reading and the fun of creating!
