Design Challenge Mix—Carnelian

As we dive deeper into 2023, we realize the importance of having more meaningful experiences while creating. With our Design Challenges, we realize that with current economic climates, some of our larger kits may be out of reach for some participants. So, we have created these pared-down Design Challenge Mixes in a hope to connect with more challengers and further accessibility. Our goal is to create a mix for each month with an accompanying AG Fine Pewter Component that will focus on a particular emotion or attribute that will help to inspire people in the new year.  

For this Design Challenge Mix, we are spotlighting carnelian. Carnelian is believed to be a stone that symbolizes bold energy, warmth, and joy. Ancient Egyptians believed orange carnelian to be blessed with feminine energy and, to them, it was a stone of fertility and symbolized the shedding the the old. Red carnelian was believed to have a more active energy and was about embracing the new and gave courage. In the Middle Ages, carnelian was a stone of protection against the plague and was believed to bring about a long life and enable a fighting spirit. 

The new mix features a blend of rose quartz gemstones in many shapes and sizes.

You will receive one 2" x 3" bag of Design Challenge Mix along with one Allegory Gallery Fine Pewter Square Toggle Clasp in antique gold finish. 

If you're not familiar with the Allegory Gallery Design Challenges, it's a fun and informal way to play, create, and challenge yourself with a pre-selected set of components.

To participate, challengers must order a Design Challenge Mix.

Participants will have approximately one month to work on their projects. With the mix, using as much or as little of it as one likes, participant are prompted to create a piece (or pieces) that showcases their creativity, individuality, and artistic expression.  Ideally the creation will spotlight the gorgeous selection of beads included, but the sky is the limit with one can use and create!

We've asked that the Challengers keep their projects secret until the reveal date! (Of course, if you want to post teasers, please do!  It'll add to the merriment and excitement!)

The project reveal date and Creative Make-Along on Zoom is set for Friday, May 26th, 2023. 

Post a picture and a short description in the Allegory Gallery Design Challenge Group in the album we create for this challenge! We will spotlight some of the finished creations on the Allegory Gallery Facebook page and our Instagram account to celebrate these unique designs.
