Teaching in Winston-Salem at Sawtooth…
Share
Hello friends!
As many of you know, we just recently traveled down to Winston-Salem, NC for Andrew's class at Sawtooth School for Visual Art. And we had a blast! We arrived a bit before class start time on Friday to get the classroom set up, and then our students started to arrive!

The class was all about powder coating and how it can be used for jewelry and in mixed media artwork. Andrew covered a number of different techniques starting with how to powder coat using a sifting method. Then he covered stamping, sgraffito, stenciling, image transfers, gold-leafing, and so much more! With so many techniques being shown in a two and a half day class, everyone was able to pick and choose what they really wanted to focus on and what would be used best for their own artwork and processes.

We are so proud of all of the students because each one found, at least, a few techniques to make their own and their projects came out wonderfully! We can't say enough about how much each person accomplished and how delighted we were about how each student really took to their chosen techniques. We were blown away by the creativity (even by those who claimed they weren't really creative or artsy people—they really proved themselves wrong)!
If you missed out on this class, fear not! Andrew still has a few openings available in his other powder-coating class taking place at Peters Valley School of Craft in Layton, NJ this August! And, if you'd like to learn something else with Andrew, he'll be teaching enameling techniques and mold-making at Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh, PA this summer, as well!
