Root Baby Adoption Event this Friday!

Hello Friends!

Andrew's getting ready to go to Peters Valley School of Craft next week. He won a scholarship through the Windgate Foundation, and he'll be working with Andy Lowrie on transparent enamels. He couldn’t have gone without the assistance, and we're very thankful to the Windgate Foundation for their help! He will also get to see the Making Matters exhibition that he has a piece in while there. He's super excited about the trip!

The scholarship covers everything but the travel, materials, and being away from work. When you’re self-employed, you don’t get paid leave. So even though we feel extremely fortunate that he's received assistance, it still costs us money for him to attend. Whenever he goes off to a craft school, he tries to do a drop of something he's made to help offset the expenses. It makes him feel good that he's directly contributing with his art to fund these useful and educational experiences.

He's decided to have a Root Baby Adoption Event! He's been on a roll making handmade paper from plants in our yard, and he thought it was botanically appropriate.

Below is a look at one of the babies on his handmade paper. There is still lots of work to do before they’re all done, but we already adore this whimsical collection of original paintings. The drop will happen on Friday at 7:00pm (ET) here on our website. Just visit our home page at or after 7:00pm to see all the new work!
