Working with polymer clay has allowed me to express my love of abstract art, one of the purest forms of expression. I can communicate feelings and emotions that I cannot express through words. Polymer Clay Bead Making is a Passion of mine and has been for 26 years. My work is in numerous Bead & Jewelry magazines and several books on polymer clay, jewelry, and bead making. I have displayed and sold beads and jewelry in NYC at The Whole Bead Show, To Bead True Blue and The Best Bead Show in Tucson, The Bead & Button Show in Milwaukee, and I have Ttought beginning polymer clay in Miami as well as locally. My polymer clay art was on display on The White House Christmas Tree in 2001 and again in 2002, representing the State of Florida.
I reside in Gulf Breeze, Florida with my husband of 48 yrs., 2 sweet Shih Tzu’s, and an African Grey Parrot, Java Joe. Java has been my muse for nearly 25 years, he resides in my Bead Studio and has always made me smile with his joyous and humorous personality. You can sometimes see tiny birds in my Mokume Gane’ Designs. My art is also Influenced by the wonderful places that I have lived….Louisiana, Norway, Singapore, Colorado, and Florida. Some of my beads have an Asian and Southwestern influence.
My favorite technique in creating designs in polymer clay is Mokume Gane' and incorporating Gold, Silver, Copper, Red, Blue, and Black leafing plus imbedding micro glass beads into the polymer.
